Memorial Day weekend

Due to a needed maintenance the following facilities will have temporary disruption in mail acceptance over the Memorial Day weekend:

Sunday May 28,2017
North West Rochester Plant (144PM) will be unable to accept Drop Shipments from 0600-1800.  Mailers can utilize the Rochester Plant (NASS 144), for scheduling drops during that time frame.
Seattle P&DC (980) will be unable to accept Drop Shipments from 0500-1300.  Mailers can utilize the Seattle NDC (NASS 98Z) for scheduling drops during that time frame.

Monday May 29,2017
Los Angeles NDC (90Z) will be unable to accept Drop Shipments from 0600-1900.  Mailers can utilize the Los Angeles P&DC (NASS 900), for scheduling drops during that time frame.

Ohio

Whitehall Carrier Annex, 43213 — Because of damage from a fire, destination delivery unit drop shipments should be taken to the Airport Annex located at 4299 Sawyer Road, Columbus, OH, 43236. The facility is expected to resume normal operations in late July 2016.

Tornado Damage

The Postal Service has impacts following tornados that touched down in several cities across the region. The following offices are being impacted and are experiencing service delays.

ARKANSAS
Parthenon Post Office 72666 – The office was destroyed by a tornado. All operations have been relocated to Jasper Post Office, located at 412 W Court St., Jasper, AR 72641.

DALLAS
Leonard Post Office 75452 – The office has roof damage and a broken gas line resulting from high winds from a tornado in the region. Retail operations have been temporarily suspended until repairs are completed. Please check back for updates.

IOWA
Ottumwa PO 52501 – Office has damage following a tornado in the region.
Salem PO 52649 – Office is experiencing a power outage.

NORTH DAKOTA
Ambrose PO 58833 – Office is inaccessible due to impassable roads. Please check back for updates.

Virginia

Crystal City Station 22215 – All operations; to include BMEU services, have been temporarily suspended due to a malfunctioning heating unit. Operations are expected to resume March 7th following all necessary repairs.

Maine

Winthrop PO, 04364 – Operations temporarily suspended at Winthrop Post Office due to extensive damage from an onsite fire. All operations to include retail, P.O. Box, and BMEU services have been temporarily relocated to the Manchester Post Office. Manchester Post Office is located at 31 Readfield Rd., Manchester, ME 04351.

Rhode Island

Albion Post Office, 02802 — Retail operations have been relocated to the Manville Post Office, located at 30 Railroad St., Ste. 3, Manville, RI, 02838. Operations were suspended following a fire in the building where the Albion Post Office was located. The fire caused substantial damage and the building is expected to be demolished and rebuilt.

Louisiana

The Postal Service remains in recovery phase following flooding in several cities.

The following office has resumed full operations:

  • Springfield Post Office, 70462

The following office has resumed some operations as described but remains suspended:

  • Denham Springs Post Office, 70726 – Customers no longer need to travel to the Baton Rouge postal facility at 8101 Bluebonnet Road to retrieve their mail. PO Box customers can retrieve their mail at a temporary site at the Denham Springs Post Office, located at 140 Del Orleans. Customers who receive a Left Notice slip from the Postal Service can also pick up items here. Pickup services are available seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, retail services are available at the same temporary site, via a mobile retail unit. Customers are able to purchase stamps, postage or other services, in addition to mailing packages or letters. Retail services are offered six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Customers who receive delivery at their homes or businesses are reminded that mail delivery is being made, wherever roads are accessible, if a mailbox is properly placed and available. These customers do not need to pick up their mail at the temporary site.

The following offices have temporarily suspended operations and relocated to alternate sites as noted:

  • Robert Post Office, 70455 – Customers may retrieve their mail at the Hammond Post Office, located at 105 NW Railroad Ave., Hammond, 70401.
  • Springfield Post Office, 70462 – Customers may retrieve their mail at the Ponchatoula Post Office, located at 275 N 5th St., Ponchatoula, 70454.
  • Tangipahoa Post Office, 70465 – Customers may retrieve their mail at the Kentwood Post Office, located at 601 Avenue E, Kentwood, 70444.
  • Greenwell Springs Post Office, 70739 – Customers may retrieve their mail at the Zachary Post Office, located at 6001 Main St., Zachary, 70791.

Customers with proper identification can pick up their mail at the alternate Post Offices. Retail and shipping services will also be available, such as Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail and First-Class through Fourth-Class postage. In addition, special services like Registered Mail and Certified Mail will be available for customers.

As water recedes in the impacted areas and conditions improve, both mail delivery and retail services will be restored at impacted Post Offices.

Florida

The Postal Service remains in recovery phase following impacts from Hurricane Matthew. While most offices have reopened and normal service has resumed, a few offices and operations remain impacted. Please continue to check back for updates.
With the exception of the following offices, delivery and retail operations in Florida have resumed. Please check back for updates.

  • Daytona Beach Peninsula Station, 32118 — All operations have resumed effective Nov. 18.
  • Elkton Post Office, 32033 — Operations have temporarily been relocated to Hastings Post Office, located at 200 Cochran Ave., Hastings, FL, 32145. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and closed Sunday.

North Carolina

Hurricane Matthew
The Postal Service remains in recovery phase following impacts from Hurricane Matthew. While most offices have reopened and normal service has resumed, a few offices and operations remain impacted. Please continue to check back for updates.
The following offices are closed, with delivery and retail operations redirected to an alternate site:

  • Fair Bluff Post Office, 28439 ― Alternate site: Tabor City Post Office, 200 E 5th St., Tabor City, 28463. A mobile unit has been set up at 86 Conway Rd., Fair Bluff, 28439.
  • Ivanhoe Post Office, 28447 ― Alternate site: Willard Post Office, 130 Willard Railroad St., Willard, 28478. A mobile unit has been set at 4146 Ivanhoe Rd, Ivanhoe, NC.
  • Seven Springs Post Office, 28578 ― Alternate site: LaGrange Post Office, 209 S Caswell St., LaGrange, 28551. A mobile unit has been set up at 5404 Hwy 55E, Seven Springs, NC, 28578

Customers in impacted areas with questions about their mail or Post Office conditions may contact the call center. Hours of operation are daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The numbers are: 910-423-2309 or 910-423-4065.

Forest Fires
Postal operations are impacted by forest fires in the area. Business Mail Entry Unit service has been temporarily suspended at the following offices. Please check back for updates.

  • Bat Cave Post Office, 28710 — Located at 89 Lake Lure Highway.
  • Chimney Rock Post Office, 28720 — Located at 366 Main St.

South Carolina

Hurricane Matthew
The Postal Service remains in recovery phase following impacts from Hurricane Matthew. While most offices have reopened and normal service has resumed, a few offices and operations remain impacted. Please continue to check back for updates.
With the exception of one office, normal delivery and retail operations have resumed in the South Carolina ZIP Code three-digit areas of 294, 295 and 299.

  • Nichols Post Office, 29581 — Customers may pick up mail at the Loris Post Office, located at 3085 Broad St., Loris, SC, 29569.

Minnesota

Retail and delivery operations have been impacted as a result of flooding in the upper Midwest region. The following office has been evacuated due to rising flood waters.

  • Saint Clair PO 56080 – Services have been temporarily suspended at the Saint Clair Post Office. For retail and P.O. Box service customers may visit the Janesville PO located, at 101 N Main St, Janesville, MN 56048.

Wisconsin

Retail and delivery operations have been impacted as a result of flooding in the upper Midwest region. The following office has been evacuated due to rising flood waters.

  • Gays Mills PO 54631 – Services have been temporarily suspended at the Gays Mills Post Office. For retail and P.O. Box service customers may visit the Gay Mills Mercantile building.

Tropical Storm Hermine

As a result of impacts from Tropical Storm Hermine, postal operations have been interrupted in parts of Florida and Georgia.

  • Suwannee Post Office, 32692 — Flooding from Hurricane Hermine forced the closure of the Suwannee Post Office at 23252 SE Highway 349. A mobile retail unit will be in the Post Office parking lot. Customers may pick up their PO Box mail with proper identification. The mobile retail unit will also sell stamps. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Cedar Key Post Office, 32625 — Retail operations: A mobile unit is now located in the parking lot of the Cedar Key Post Office, located at 512 2nd St., Cedar Kay, 32625. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m..; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., and closed Sunday. Services offered are stamp sales, PO Box mail pickup, and carrier Left Notice pickup.
  • DDU/Drop shipment operations: Operations temporarily relocated to Chiefland Post Office, located at 222 W Park Ave., Chiefland, 32626. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and closed Sunday.
  • Homosassa Post Office, 34487— Operations temporarily relocated to Homosassa Springs Post Office, located at 4610 S Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, 34446. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and closed Sunday.
  • Aripeka Post Office, 34679 — All operations have resumed as of Nov. 18.

Flash flooding has damaged several Post Offices. The following offices have suspended retail operations. Please check back for updates.

  • Lola, 77861 — Operations remain suspended while estimates are received for necessary repairs. Customers continue to receive service at the North Zulch Post Office located at 11337 5th St., North Zulch, 77872
  • Kurten, 77862 — Operations remain suspended while concrete work is completed. Customers continue to receive service at the North Zulch Post Office located at 11337 5th St., North Zulch, 77872.

The following offices have resumed operations following flash flooding:

  • Harrisburg Finance, 77012 — Resumed all operations
  • Stonewall Station, 78406, 78409 — Resumed all operations

Illinois

Haymarket Post Office, 60661 — Operations remain suspended while repairs are made following a fire. A reopening date has not yet been determined.

Cameron Post Office, 61423 — The Post Office was damaged by a tornado. Operations remain suspended with a reopening date not yet determined. Customers can visit the Abingdon Post Office located at 123 W. Meek St., 61410, for retail and PO Box services. Please check back for updates.

Arizona

Supai Post Office, 86435 — Supai Post Office is currently not accepting DDU drop shipments. As a result of wildfires, the road to Supai, Indian Highway 18, is closed and accessible to emergency personnel only. In addition, Supai Village is without power due to power lines destroyed by fire.
